Dan Murphy is an independent certified dance instructor offering lessons to adults in Morris, IL and surrounding areas.
Dan began teaching dance in 2019 when a friend asked if he would lead a dance class at her fitness center. This led to a request to teach a young couple their wedding first dance, which led to other recommendations resulting in him coaching several couples in their first wedding dance.
Dan has competed in several National Dance Council of America sanctioned events, first in 2016 at the Atlanta Ballroom Challenge, and then at the Mo-Town Showdown in Detroit. He has since won in American Style Smooth and Rhythm at the annual Chicago Crystal Ball and Chicago Harvest Moon competitions.
Dan successfully completed the Illinois Ballroom Teacher College’s curriculum in American Smooth and Rhythm and is certified by the Dance Vision International Dance Association (DVIDA) in several of those styles
